Net Metering in Pennsylvania a Boost to Renewables

Net metering is at the center of competitive renewables.

When the solar panels work, and electricity is not being used, the meter runs backwards. When the electricity is used and solar is resting, the meter runs forward. The solar panels have a net effect on the meter and electric bill.

Farmers use bio waste generators to use waste for energy, but needed metering standards as well. The state utilities had to pay citizens for excess power generated by alternative energy systems.

As the grid continues to improve and technology evolves, net metering will need to evolve as well.
