Pennsylvania: Says No to Renewable Energy

This week, the Pennsylvania Dept of Environmental Protection said that it would not recommend the state’s CCAC debate or vote on an idea that will expand Pennsylvania’s Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (AEPS).

Other states across the country recognize the multiple benefits of alternative power and have increased the requirements in their state portfolios, DEP says they won’t consider expanding renewable energy in Pennsylvania.

Earlier this year, DEP staff introduced an idea to the CCAC that considered a modest increase in alternative energy rom the existing 8 percent standard to a 10.5 percent standard.
